My husband Lance and I moved to Langley in 1983 from Seattle with our two young children, because we thought Whidbey Island would be a good place to raise our family. We soon learned it is a GREAT place to raise a family. I spent the next 20 years doing that, along with helping hundreds of others parents by teaching classes, attending births as a doula, training doulas at the Seattle Midwifery School, directing a non-profit aiding parents, and volunteering with numerous community concerns.

In the mean time, I designed and we built two homes on the island, a log home and a straw bale house. We remodeled another house into a duplex and renovated 3 fixer-uppers. We sold one, and turned 2 into rentals. We are currently carefully developing a new piece of raw land. In the process, I discovered that I love real estate- walking boundary lines and considering building sites, planning new construction and doing renovations, thinking about investments and cash flows, and mostly imagining turning a house into a home for someone.
